The project aimed at enhancing the restaurant experience of customers through novel uses of technology in the field of Interaction Design.
To gain an insight of the experience aspects in a typical Indian restaurant, we went to different restaurants and studied the users' behaviour. We observed and surveyed about 15 people across 3 different restaurants.
From the contextual research, we got huge amount of data inform of timelines and questionnaire responses. Our next task was to compile and visualise them to gain new insights and also proceed towards ideation phase.
Based on the results of the analysis, we started developing ideas aimed at both solving some problematic issues as well as creating novel and delightful experiences for the users.
After creating several concepts and features, it was time to combine them together by building scenarios. We created very detailed storyboards to get more contextual backing of our ideas. Some features had to be ignored as we looked towards convergence phase.
As we finalised a concept, the next phase was prototyping it. We had to go through a vast study of the available technologies convenient for prototyping. Some features we developed one at a time and then we began integrating.
We were able to successfully complete a working prototype through which we were able to demonstrate our concept. Though we had to make some minor compromises to meet the deadline, our product was well recieved and appreciated.
